This table goes from 2-6 in Column 1 and uses the Base 60 format in Column 2 to arrive at the product of 45.
After reading through all my posts throughout the semester, I believe the most important takeaway is that my thought process has become much...
Dylan, you and Winston have posted identical (and erroneous) tables. This was an individual assignment, and you should each be working out your own, distinct table that is not the same as anyone else's in the class. What is more, you need to build your own deeper understanding of this aspect of math history. This is not OK, and I need you and Winston to replace these posts ASAP with ones that are original to you and that show your mathematical thinking!
ReplyDeleteWhat is more, you, Winston and Brock have not let me know which ancient problems you are working on for Assignment 1, which is due Monday. I'll send you an email about this as well. I need to know what you will be presenting!
Hi Susan,
DeleteSo sorry about that and apologies for seeing this comment so late. Winston and I were not aware that this was a strict individual assignment and we worked together to figure out the method in which to solve for 45 using Babylonian notation. We made the mistake of uploading the same numbers as those were our example numbers that we solved for, but we also had our own numbers that we applied our own unique methods to solve. Winston has uploaded a new table and this will not happen again.
Dylan
Oops, I just looked at the Google sheets and saw that your group is signed up there for puzzle #9! Thanks, and my apologies for not checking there earlier. Cheers,
